It goes without saying that we are very pleased with this initial money to address beach recession and protect the club asset, but I have been advised this is only a medium-term fix. Hopefully this will have limited impact on patrols on the beach.

It is proposed the use of geotextile sand bags be used with revegetation of the area by Christmas. I have been advised over the upcoming weeks we will be consulted as major stakeholders, and have input into the next stage. I am pleased to acknowledge that $450,000 has been put aside to secure the Surf Life Saving Club at Inverloch, and a further $700,000 to put together a task force to study the overall beach recession in the area over the next 2 years. Most of you aware by now that the State government has put aside 1.15 million dollars to address beach recession in the Bass Coast area. It would be great to see all hands-on deck to have the clubhouse looking great for the coming season. The club will be holding a pre-season working bee and BBQ on Sunday 3rd November from 10am till 2pm. If you want to come down to see what it is all about or lend a hand, gear inspection will be happening on Saturday 2nd November commencing at 10am. REMINDER: If you haven’t paid your membership it’s time to do it now! #Eagle eye trailers update
There are still a lot of members to renew their membership so please I urge you to update now. Plans are in place for a new bar, with a bit of luck we will make the opening of the season – if not a temporary bar will be in place operating away from the kitchen.Ħ weeks till the opening of the season, for patrolling members if you haven’t signed up for a patrol do the survey now. On a positive note we are the only venue in town with a surf view so take advantage of the bar facility and enjoy the view over summer. The beach is still a challenge however the erosion will settle down over Summer and I hope over this period council and state and federal governments will put together a plan to ensure the longevity of our beach and dunes.
#Eagle eye trailers full
Bronze camp is full and there are only a few positions left in Nippers. A new television has been placed in the training room and the old one has been moved to the patrol lounge. The new ATV has also been delivered and an induction program is being put in place for its use. I’m pleased to report the mobile patrol tower has now been delivered and is being fitted with solar power and radio. I hope this copy of Eagle Eye finds you well and getting excited for the season ahead.
